Our Princess Cruises (full review here) left Vancouver late so we arrived at Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro 6 hours behind schedule.
Luckily for us, we did not have any activity planned for the day so we took our time getting a Lyft to our hotel on Wilshire Boulevard. The traffic was smooth (which surprised our driver a number of times) but still took an hour to get to the newly renovated Hotel Wilshire by Kimpton where we will be spending the next two nights.
Since we weren’t ready for dinner, we walked to The Original Farmers Market and The Grove which are only a 20-minute walk away from our hotel.
There were many appealing food choices at the farmers market but we decided to get McDonald’s for dinner at the end #McNuggets.

I love, love, love The Grove. We did not do any shopping there but just admiring the beauty of the stores was enough. Eric and I will definitely make a return visit if we are ever in LA during the holiday seasons as I can only imagine how much prettier it will look with the decorations.

We were also lucky enough to see the cable car in action. There was a guy who tried to hop on like they do in San Francisco but got a stern look from the car operator so I assumed it was not allowed.
This was an early night for us as we had Universal Studio Hollywood planned for the next day and needed all the energy I can save up. It turned out I was right as we ended up spending 7 hours at the park 🤪
