Monday Hour One Weekly Recap – Week #2

This week, I found myself going to my Google Sheets at least once a day not to update my progress, but to find out what I had scheduled to do that day. This reaffirmed the idea that planning the week in advance helped with my productivity as I did not have to waste time figuring out what to do.

During the week, I managed to largely stayed on track until Friday as I had a very busy day at work with a last-minute task. We were supposed to get groceries that night but we only got Japanese take-out instead. The food was not really good but it was nice we got to support a local business.

On the weekend, I didn’t do as much studying as I had planned and I think that was partly due to me forgetting to check my schedule first thing in the morning. By the time I did, most of the morning was wasted. It made me truly realize how important it is to plan but also to follow it through by having a reminder in front of me.

What Would I Do Different This Week?

I discovered this Youtube channel this weekend and ended up watching a number of his productivity videos. It reminded me how the morning is truly the most productive time for many (including myself) and I decided to structure next week to include one hour of ‘no time’ each morning during the week. Eric thinks it will be impossible for me as I tend to sleep in when I could. For example, I have been waking up at 7 AM instead of 6 AM since I work from home now, even though I have been going to bed at around the same time (~11 PM).

Well, challenge accepted!
