Where to Stay in Tianjin – InterContinental Tianjin Yujiapu

When my mom and I went on our first cruise last year, we flew in separately and met at the Beijing Capital International Airport before travelling to Tianjin (~ 3 hrs). It was a long and tiring journey for both of us.

Our one-night stay at the InterContinental Tianjin Yujiapu was exactly what we needed before we boarded our cruise the next day – refreshing, relaxing and quiet.

Check-In

We arrived at the Intercontinental Yujiapu in Binhai Area the night before our cruise. The bell person was readily available and took care of our luggage right away. Upon check-in, I found out our room was upgraded to the top floor with a river view. The check-in process was quick and efficient and made us feel welcomed.

Room – InterContinental River View Room with a King Bed

Our room 1105 was close to the elevator but the noise was not an issue during our stay at all.

The river view room is spacious at just over 530 sq ft (50 sq m). When I opened the door, all I can see was the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Haihe River. The toilet is separated from the bathroom with a free-standing bathtub and a rain shower.

Note, if you share a room with someone other than your significant other, the glass door to the bathroom might be a little odd.

Location

The Intercontinental Yujiapu hotel is located in the business district called Binhai. Since we arrived on a Saturday, when we took a walk in the neighbourhood the next day, the area was quite deserted.

I didn’t have lots of time this time but if I did, I would have checked out the stunning Binhai Library only a short taxi ride away.

Conclusion

InterContinental Yujiapu is a stunning hotel inside and out. Their basic rooms are spacious at over 500 sq ft and elegantly designed. Their staff are trained and ready to provide 5-star courteous service everywhere you go.

We were glad we chose them to be our home base the night before getting on our cruise at the Tianjin Cruise Port. The only downside I can think of is the disappointment you will feel when you compare your room on the cruises to the ones at InterContinental Yujiapu.
