Best Shows in Las Vegas, NV That You Have to Watch – All Things Vegas Series

David Copperfield at MGM Grand

Previously, I shared a list of restaurants and hotels in Las Vegas you have to try or stay at. Now, it is time to share a list of shows you have to watch in Las Vegas. We try to fit into a couple of shows or concerts every trip so we have something planned for a couple of evenings. We have also gone to Vegas for specific concerts (Ariana Grande and Lady A in 2019) before.

What is this All Things Vegas Series?

I love Vegas. I am one of those friends who would respond with 10+ messages when you ask a simple question about Vegas. Since I won’t be visiting Vegas in the near future with all the travel restrictions, I have decided to write a series of Vegas posts for fun. Note, all opinions are my own and you may have different preferences. One of the beauties of Vegas is that they truly have something for everyone!

Shows in Las Vegas, NV That You Have to Watch

Absinthe at Caesars Palace

We have not been to Absinthe yet but have always intended to as it is one of the highest-rated comedy shows in Las Vegas. Note, it is an adult show with loads of dirty jokes and excellent performers. The show is inside of a tent just outside of Caesars Palace so the venue is very intimate with no bad seats. People have been warned that if you choose the front row seats, be prepared to be harassed!

Criss Angel MINDFREAK at Planet Hollywood

Criss Angel is my favourite and Eric’s second favourite (first being David Copperfield) magician show in Las Vegas. We watched the show twice when it was at Luxor and have not been there since it moved to Planet Hollywood. However, based on what his show was previously, I can only imagine an entertaining magic show.

David Copperfield at MGM Grand

David Copperfield is a world-famous illusionist who has been performing at his Vegas residency since 1996. We went to his show once and as per Eric, has yet to find anything that tops it (he is a magic show fan). The venue of the show is quite intimate so there aren’t really bad seats which is good news as his tickets are quite pricey.

Fountain Show at Bellagio (Free)

The best thing does not necessarily cost money. The Bellagio Fountain Show is a prime example of that. The fountain is located in front of the Bellagio hotel and occupies the best spot on the Las Vegas Boulevard. Your trip to Las Vegas will not be considered complete without watching a fountain show or two.

KA by Cirque du Soleil at MGM Grand

Eric and I watched a number of the Cirque du Soleil shows in Vegas (The Beatles LOVE, Zumanity and Zarkana). KA by Cirque du Soleil is by far both of our favourite Cirque du Soleil shows in Vegas as it was entertaining with the fire elements and has an easy-to-follow storyline.

Conclusion

The shows in Las Vegas, in true Vegas fashion, come and go all the time. The ones on my list have mostly been around for years but that is not to say the newer shows are not as good. Las Vegas has an impressive folio of shows for any interest and budget making it one of the best entertainment districts in the world.
